Department of Health (Royal Street) awarded a contract to Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia for sexual and blood-borne virus (BBV) health support services for the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Sector.
The contract aims to improve testing rates for STIs and BBVs, provide high-quality treatment and patient management, and ensure culturally secure healthcare for Aboriginal people in WA.
The service includes capacity building, sector support, youth peer education, and interagency collaboration, aligned with the WA Sexual Health and Blood-borne Virus Strategy 2024–2030.
This contract continues a long-standing partnership since 2012, reflecting the government's commitment to culturally appropriate healthcare and the central role of ACCHSs in addressing health disparities.
