About
Department of State Growth awarded a contract to ARRB Group Ltd trading as NTRO - National Transport Research Organisation for biennial skid resistance surveys on the sealed Tasmanian State Road Network.
The survey covers approximately 3,850 km in the prescribed direction and 1,900 km in the counter direction, including State Roads on Bruny Island.
The contractor must use Sideways Force Measuring Equipment, implement traffic control, and process data with adjustments for temperature, load, and speed.
Data is collected and reported at 5m and 100m intervals for each wheel path.
