PathWest Laboratory Medicine WA awarded a contract to Abbott.
(Abbott Australasia Pty.
Ltd.) for the supply, delivery, installation, commissioning and support of a fit-for-purpose core laboratory testing solution to serve the majority of routine pathology tests across PathWest's 27 metropolitan and regional laboratories.
The contract covered laboratory automation to perform a wide range of routine biochemical and immunological diagnostic tests, the provision of associated consumables and reagents to support the test menu, and a data management system to manage test results and workflows.
The scope included delivery, installation, commissioning and ongoing support services.
Contracts bundling automation, consumables/reagents and data management were awarded to integrated diagnostics suppliers capable of end-to-end delivery and support; this award placed an integrated core testing solution into PathWest’s 27 laboratories, centralising routine biochemical and immunological testing workflows.
