Public Transport Authority awarded a contract to Frauscher Sensor Technology Australia (Frauscher Sensor Technology Australia Pty Ltd) for the supply and support of type‑approved Axle Counting Systems, wheel sensors, original spare parts and ancillary signalling components.

The contract required supply and delivery in accordance with agreed Type Approval specifications, maintenance of a PTA product catalogue for inventory items, and provision for PTA to add additional products as technology advanced under the PTA Type Approval Process.

The supplier was required to submit new proposed signalling items for PTA Type Approval assessment and could be provided with applicable PTA drawings, specifications and procedures to assist supply.

The award also included an option for technical support services for product- and system-related inquiries and the potential provision of practical on-site and/or virtual railway training on the Axle Counting Systems and wheel sensors.
