SAFECOM awarded a contract to pac fire for the supply to the Emergency Services Sector of rural (wildland) helmets and associated accessories that were manufactured in accordance with AS/NZS 1801:1997 – Type three (3) for occupational protective helmets; multipurpose rescue/rural (wildland) helmets and associated accessories that were manufactured in accordance with AS/NZS 1801:1997 – Type three (3) for occupational protective helmets; and general-purpose rescue helmets and associated accessories that were manufactured in accordance with AS/NZS 1801:1997 – Type one (1) and type two (2) for occupational protective helmets.
Contracts specifying AS/NZS 1801:1997 compliance indicated a procurement priority for certified protective equipment, favouring suppliers able to demonstrate manufacture to those standards.
