Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources awarded a contract to Black Box Control Pty Ltd for provision of systems to improve reporting of contract performance for free-to-user and fare-paying bus services in Tasmania.

The contract covered delivery of evidentiary-standard data to support contract management through exception reporting, including GPS-based monitoring by a third-party service, development and monitoring of an Intelligent Access Condition (IAC), and generation of temporal, spatial and speed exception reports for bus route compliance.

For fare-paying services the contract required RFID tap-and-go capability to obtain concession passenger data, supply of RFID card readers, and passenger data transfer.
