About
Department for Energy and Mining awarded a contract to Siemens Ltd for the supply and implementation of a power system modelling software solution to support a new in-house electricity planning and forecasting function.
The software enabled modelling of power flow, voltage stability, transient stability and contingency analysis and supported improved communication of technical analysis results with different stakeholders.
The solution was intended to inform strategies to enhance electricity supply capacity while meeting cost-effectiveness, reliability and security requirements and aligning with South Australia’s carbon emission reduction targets.
