The Department of Health - Health Corporate Network - Supply 2 awarded a contract to Applied Biosystems (Life Technologies Australia Pty) for the supply, delivery, installation, commissioning, and training of one real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) instrument for haematology-based diagnostic applications at PathWest Laboratory Medicine WA, Royal Perth Hospital.
The instrument supports quantitative PCR and end-point PCR genotyping for disease-related transcript detection in chronic and acute myeloid leukaemia.
The contract includes an optional five-year maintenance agreement.
