About

Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania awarded a contract to CSIRO for updating the Macquarie Harbour water quality model.

The model, originally developed under a 2020 research project, was restarted in October 2023 to inform regulatory decisions on salmon farming management and conservation efforts for the endangered Maugean Skate.

The update ensured the model was fit for purpose.
