About
Department of Health and Human Services awarded a contract to Fire and Safety Tasmania Pty Ltd for the upgrade of the fire sprinkler valve system at Launceston General Hospital.
The works increased the number of sprinkler valves from 3 to 6 and included new valves in the valve box, installation of new underground mains, connection to existing mains on each floor, implementation of Digifire graphics, and make-good works to the road.
The contract was delivered by a specialist fire-safety supplier and combined both underground mains work and building services connections, reflecting a focus on strengthening hospital fire-suppression infrastructure and system integration.
