The SA Constraints Measure project for the River Murray in South Australia is seeking a suitably qualified contractor to develop a future funding proposal to support continuation of targeted floodplain infrastructure works beyond the current implementation phase, which commenced in 2022 and concludes on 30 June 2027. The project aims to remove operational and physical constraints that limit delivery of environmental water across the River Murray system and to deliver environmental outcomes and improved community resilience to high-flow events of up to 80,000 ML/d through floodplain infrastructure works and impediment removals. The appointed contractor will identify the scope of works and measures required for each floodplain infrastructure site, prepare cost estimates and implementation schedules for each site, and support the delivery of a proposal incorporating these estimates and schedules to pursue Commonwealth funding opportunities aligned to the Murray Darling Basin Plan and future Australian Government investment.
