The grant was used to enhance and expand mobile outreach in the Perth metropolitan area to increase the availability and accessibility of staging for hepatitis B (HBV) and hepatitis C (HCV), with a focus on at-risk population groups experiencing barriers to accessing tertiary care.
The funding enabled HepatitisWA to purchase the capital required to perform outreach services, including one mobile FibroScan designed to provide a mobile service across multiple locations.
The award funded capital equipment to decentralise HBV/HCV staging via mobile diagnostics, enabling HepatitisWA to deliver liver assessment services across multiple locations to improve access for populations facing barriers to tertiary care.
