Marine and Safety Tasmania awarded a contract to Tas Span Pty Ltd for construction of a new dual lane boat ramp and for the supply and installation of a modular pontoon system at Bronte Lagoon in the Central Highlands.
The scope covered civil construction of the dual-lane ramp plus delivery and installation of the pontoon, and the contractor was required to allow for undertaking the works between 6 February and 9 March 2012 while the lagoon level was drawn down by 1.88 metres for routine maintenance.
The contract combined civil marine construction and modular equipment supply/installation and was tied to a scheduled 1.88 m lagoon drawdown (6 Feb–9 Mar 2012), making coordination with water-level management a key operational constraint.
