About

Public Transport Authority awarded a contract to Artery Media Solutions (Tempestt Family Trust) for delivering the PTA Urban Art Program 2024, a Restricted Stage 2 commission to deliver mural outcomes at nine locations across the PTA network.

The program aimed to improve the appearance of PTA sites and areas linked to PTA facilities that were impacted by or at high risk of graffiti, to commission artworks that would deter vandalism and reduce the incidence of graffiti requiring removal, to engage urban artists through legitimate commissions as alternatives to illegal street art, and to engage at-risk youth through the Right Track Urban Art Program.

Shortlisted artists were invited to develop site-specific concept designs in accordance with the relevant briefs and briefing sessions.

Concept design proposals were assessed by a PTA selection panel with specialist advice sought as required from the City of Perth, Noongar representatives and an external public art consultant.
