Department of Environment, Parks, Heritage and the Arts awarded a contract to AE Display and Sales P/L for the design, erection and dismantling of the Tasmania exhibit at the Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) in Perth 2008 (ATE 2009 and ATE 2010).
The contract covered development of the floorplan using the existing octonorm system; storage of custom components and other supporting display and promotional material; freight of custom exhibit elements between storage and the event and back to storage; hire and freight (where necessary) of additional components required for the exhibit; production of large-format digital images onto backing boards; on-site erection of the Tasmanian exhibit including visuals and subsequent dismantling; ordering and placement of additional exhibition equipment (plasma TV monitor, tables, chairs, storage shelves, cupboards, power, etc.); and rigging of Tasmanian banners above the Tasmania area.
Contracts for trade-exhibition stands typically required suppliers with integrated capabilities across modular-system design (octonorm), storage and freight logistics, large-format production and on-site rigging, which tended to favour specialised display and event-furnishing firms.
