About
Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions awarded a contract to Common Ground Trails PTY LTD for the design and construction of a realignment of the existing Lennard Gorge walk trail to a Class 2 walking trail standard and for a lookout area with a steel barrier.
The works comprised trail realignment and compaction, embedding of small stones and gravel where required, placement and repositioning of existing rocks to form a natural path including a causeway, construction of stone steps, vegetation removal and clearance, and fabrication (engineer certified) and installation of a steel balustrade.
The project combined low-impact civil trail works with certified steel balustrade fabrication, indicating award evaluations prioritised contractors capable of both trail construction and engineered metalwork.
