Department of Communities awarded a contract to University of South Australia for development and delivery of an online course and associated training materials to strengthen workforce capability across 12 Child Sexual Abuse Therapeutic Services (CSATS) and two Indigenous Healing Services (IHS) statewide.
The contract addressed providers' reported reduced capacity, staff retention and attraction issues, and limited ability to undertake regular workforce development and professional training.
The contractor was engaged to produce targeted online training, practice resources and materials designed to support embedding the 'Minimum Practice Standards: Specialist and community support services responding to child sexual abuse' and to enhance the sector’s capacity to respond to victims and survivors.
The scope covered course design and delivery of online training content for sector staff.
The award to a university aligned with the need for specialist curriculum and online course development; centrally developed training and practice resources were intended to address systemic workforce capability gaps across specialist community services.
