Public Transport Authority awarded a contract to Arup Australia Projects Pty Ltd for the development and review of technical specifications and a revised approach to the Authority’s Condition Monitoring (CM) Strategy for railway assets.

The engagement covered review of the PTA CM Strategy and proposing a revised approach aligned with PTA strategic direction and stakeholder asset monitoring requirements.

Services included developing and/or reviewing technical standards for railway asset condition monitoring systems, detailing industry regulatory minimum requirements; minimum performance requirements based on Australian and international standards; operational (performance) conditions and limitations; measurement parameters and derived calculations; instrumentation measurement range and accuracy tolerances; geospatial localisation methodology; integrative system considerations and capability; minimum operator competency levels; and other mandatory requirements referenced within applicable Australian and international standards relevant to each monitoring system.
