About
Department of Health awarded a contract to Your Hobart Doctor for operation of an Urgent Care Clinic on Bathurst Street, Hobart.
The contract formed part of a Commonwealth Government initiative to establish 50 Urgent Care Clinics (UCCs) across Australia and three UCCs in Tasmania (one in each of the southern, northern and north‑west regions).
The clinic was intended to deliver low‑acuity urgent care, including assessment and treatment for minor injuries and illnesses, at no out‑of‑pocket cost to patients.
The service was expected to operate extended hours seven days a week and was required to have timely access to necessary equipment, including imaging facilities, for diagnosis and treatment.
