About
Department of State Development awarded a contract to ANDREW PISANI for an Algal Bloom Fisheries and Aquaculture Assistance Grant of up to $225,000 to eligible fisheries and aquaculture licence holders who were unable to catch or harvest their usual volume, had to stop operations due to extended harvest closures, or had their licence fees waived.
The grant was permitted to be used to meet fixed costs and overheads including utilities, rent, finance and interest payments.
Successful grant recipients were required to enter into a grant agreement with the Minister for Small and Family Business, administered by DSD, to receive the approved grant.
The Chief Executive, Department of State Development approved an exemption from disclosure/redaction of insurance details and licence numbers in grant agreements under Section 22.4 and 22.5 of Premier and Cabinet Circular 027 on the grounds of public interest and legal risk.
The award provided targeted financial relief to individual fisheries and aquaculture licence holders affected by algal blooms, with administration via DSD and ministerial grant agreements and an approved exemption for certain sensitive agreement details.
