Department of Communities awarded a contract to KPMG Australia (KPMG) for provision of services to produce the Housing Authority’s 2025–26 Financial Statements and associated Whole of Government disclosure requirements.

The contract required KPMG to undertake tasks on an as-required and hourly basis, including providing expert advice and analysis on financial accounting issues and preparing position papers associated with the Housing Authority; providing advice, analysis and oversight to enable Service Concession Arrangements accounting and reporting pursuant to AASB 1059; and assisting, in conjunction with the Manager Assets and the Assets Accounting Team, with required financial statement disclosures covering AASB 116 Property, Plant and Equipment, AASB 1059 Service Concession Arrangements and AASB 102 Inventories.

The role also included liaison with key stakeholders such as Housing and Assets, Financial Accounting, Landgate and the Office of the Auditor General.
