About
The Public Transport Authority awarded a contract to RGB Assurance Pty Ltd for Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) project engineering services supporting the Automatic Train Control (ATC) project.
The ATC project aims to replace the existing Transperth rail network signalling and control systems with radio-based in-cab signalling technology, including a new Transport Operations Control Centre, automatic train supervision, simplified secondary signalling, replacement of life-expired signalling assets, reduction of field equipment, and moving-block Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) to enable increased service frequencies.
This contract reflects the PTA's early-stage procurement planning for a major rail signalling upgrade, with RAMS engineering critical to ensuring safety and reliability in the transition to advanced train control systems.
