About
Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics awarded a contract to Western Grader Hire Pty Ltd for the relocation, collection, storage and disposal of improperly parked and/or abandoned motor vehicles from Northern Territory Government controlled roads in the Alice Springs Region for a period of 36 months.
The contract comprised retrieval or on-site relocation of vehicles in accordance with the NT Traffic Regulations for public safety or because the vehicle was abandoned; transportation of vehicles to a suitable secure storage area supplied by the contractor that met environmental requirements or to an alternative site within the Alice Springs regional area as instructed by the Superintendent; and relocation of some stored vehicles to a scrap metal yard or an auction facility where required.
The 36-month single-supplier arrangement consolidated vehicle removal, secure environmentally compliant storage, and end-of-life disposal/auction activities under one contractor, supporting ongoing road-safety and asset-management operations on NTG-controlled roads in the Alice Springs Region.
