About

Department for Infrastructure and Transport awarded a contract to DOWNER EDI WORKS PTY LTD for shoulder construction and sealing works on the Southern Ports Highway under the Preferred Supply Arrangement, Civil and Bridges (PSACB).

The contract covered safety improvements along RN8486 (Robe to Clay Wells Road) and RN8646 (Beachport to South End Access Road), including lane widening, shoulder sealing, pavement rehabilitation, culvert extensions, safety barriers, audio line tactile marking, and vegetation removal.

The project formed part of the Australian Government’s Road Safety Program (RSP) 2023–2026, which provided $168 million to South Australia on a 50:50 Federal–State funding basis and aligned with the National Road Safety Strategy 2021–2030.
