Tasmanian Irrigation Schemes Pty Ltd awarded a contract to AssetVal for the full valuation of the Rivers & Water Supply Commission’s water, drainage and irrigation scheme assets.
The engagement covered setting current valuations on major infrastructure including dams, pipeline networks, pumps, valves, drainage and supply channels.
The revaluation followed a prior full valuation completed in 2003, with annual revaluation indices having been applied since; a full revaluation of major infrastructure was determined to be appropriate.
The procurement required proposers to detail their valuation process, personnel, qualifications and experience, a schedule for completing the work, and a lump-sum price to complete; current depreciation and valuation schedules were made available by the Commission’s office, and the lowest proposal was not necessarily to be accepted.
This award addressed statutory asset revaluation needs for water infrastructure and reflected procurement specifications that favour professionally qualified valuers able to deliver lump-sum, scheduled revaluation work for financial reporting and asset management purposes.
