About
Urban Renewal Authority (trading as Renewal SA) awarded a contract to HINDMARSH CONSTRUCTION AUSTRALIA PTY LTD for the principal-contractor construction of the Lot 51 Bowden mixed-use building.
The scope incorporated 80 affordable apartments for long-term rental to be delivered via a Community Housing Provider, four affordable-sale dwellings, ground-floor retail and commercial tenancies, and a public multi-deck carpark.
The project was delivered as part of the Government’s Affordable Housing Program announced under A Better Housing Future in February 2023.
The appointment used an integrated principal-contractor delivery model combining residential, retail and public parking components typical of urban renewal projects; such packages are frequently awarded to large contractors experienced in mixed-use developments.
