DFSDSCS awarded a contract to Act for Kids Limited for the coordination of Queensland Child Protection Week (QCPW), an annual event held in the first full week of September to raise awareness for the prevention of child abuse and neglect.

The contract, valued at $615,776, was procured via RFQ not in P2i and falls under the Social Services category.

Act for Kids, as the auspicing body of the QCPW Committee, is responsible for stakeholder engagement, event coordination, promotion, financial administration of grants, and evaluation.

The committee includes a representative from DFSDSCS.

An annual work plan for 2025 is attached, with future plans to be negotiated by March 31 each year.

Act for Kids must also coordinate sponsorship through the Queensland Government's sponsorship gateway and provide an itemized expenditure report and grant register by November 30 annually.

The Minister for Families, Seniors and Disability Services and Minister for Child Safety and the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence will be invited to participate in community events and provide a joint statement.
