Main Roads Western Australia awarded a contract to Downer EDI Engineering Electrical (A/A) for the design and installation of a Fibre Optic Backbone along Roe Highway from Kwinana Freeway to Orrong Road.
The project utilized existing conduits and pits with some additional installation required.
The new backbone interfaced with existing backbones on Kwinana Freeway and the Stage 1 Roe Highway ITS Works at the Orrong intersection.
This contract reflects ongoing investment in intelligent transport systems to improve traffic management and connectivity along major freight and commuter routes in Western Australia.
