The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development awarded a contract to Bass Marine PTY LTD (Bass Marine PTY LTD as trustee for Bass Marine Trust) for fishery-independent line fishing surveys in the Mid-west management area of the West Coast Bioregion.
The surveys involve dropline fishing at pre-determined sites and opportunistic handlining over three seasons during the 2024-25 financial year, with a potential additional survey in August 2025.
Each season requires 9 line fishing days split across Jurien, Dongara, and Geraldton.
