About
Department of State Development awarded a contract to University of Adelaide for the Future Industry Making Fellowships Scheme (FIMFS) to cover Eligible Expenditures to enable the Recipient to secure and attract globally leading research talent (level D or above) relevant to existing and emerging South Australia industry and to build sovereign capability under the University's FIMFS.
The Recipient agreed that the Grant was provided by the Government Party contingent on the Recipient contributing the balance of salary, start-up and relocation costs for the Fellows, with an initial minimum recipient contribution of $750,000 over the Funding Period; this was varied on 20 June 2023 to increase the minimum recipient contribution to $1,200,000 over the Funding Period.
The contract required significant recipient co‑funding, indicating the government leveraged university resources to attract senior research talent and grow industry-aligned sovereign capability in South Australia.
