Department of Environment, Parks, Heritage and the Arts awarded a contract to Faculty of Serious Play Pty Ltd for the lease of the Mt Nelson Signal Station Restaurant and Kiosk.
The lease runs from signing until 30 June 2011 with an option for a further five years.
The contract also includes a Contract for Services requiring the lessee to open and close certain facilities and perform cleaning duties at various sites within the Mt Nelson Signal Station Reserve.
This lease combines commercial hospitality with heritage site management, a common model for generating revenue while maintaining public access to historic reserves.
