About
Department of Communities awarded a contract to Curtin University for the Perpetrator Pathways Data Linkage Project.
The project was initiated following the recommendations of a special Taskforce established between September 2023 and March 2024.
The taskforce aimed to guide the State's efforts in addressing family and domestic violence, resulting in the Strengthening Responses to Family and Domestic Violence - System Reform Plan 2024 - 2029.
Curtin University was tasked with preparing a report to provide insights into patterns of family and domestic violence offending, risk factors, events, and demographics of perpetrators, as well as identifying opportunities for improved risk identification.
The selection of Curtin University highlights the importance of academic institutions in contributing expert analysis and data-driven insights to government policy reforms, particularly in complex social issues like family and domestic violence.
