Lifetime Support Authority awarded a contract to SA Care for supported accommodation and attendant care services for three Lifetime Support Scheme (LSS) Participants.
All three Participants resided in SA Care supported accommodation and had complex care requirements; they had been receiving supported accommodation and attendant care services from SA Care for several years.
Following consultation with the Service Planning & Specialist Support teams, the services for all three Participants were assessed as necessary and reasonable and were continued to minimise the risk of disruption to the Participants’ treatment, care and support.
The continuation of services maintained a familiar environment, consistent care workers, and ease of visitation to support each Participant’s pathway to recovery, and sought to avoid potential material financial impact to the LSS scheme that could arise from uprooting the Participants.
The award emphasized continuity of care for a small group of complex LSS Participants, reflecting a preference for maintaining established provider arrangements to minimise clinical disruption and financial risk to the scheme.
