About
Department of Health (Royal Street) awarded a contract to Homeless Healthcare (Perth Mobile GP Services Ltd) for the delivery of comprehensive community-based primary health care tailored to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
The Service required low-barrier, easy-to-access primary healthcare consistent with a "no wrong door" approach: free or low-cost, conveniently and consistently located, welcoming, and trauma-informed.
The Service was designed to address multiple needs in one location or visit and to include clear pathways into housing and ongoing supports where required.
Contracts that specified low-barrier, trauma-informed, multi-need community care with integrated housing pathways were aligned with providers experienced in mobile and outreach general practice models, suggesting such integrated service capabilities are a key factor in award decisions for homelessness-focused primary care.
