About

Department of Logistics and Infrastructure awarded a contract to Black Cat Civil Pty Ltd for emergency reinstatement works on the Elkedra Propacc road following extreme rainfall in February–March 2026 that caused significant flood damage and temporary evacuation of the leaseholders.

The works covered chainage CH0.00 to CH85.57 km and addressed damage to a major access route used by surrounding communities (Imangara, Ampilatwatja, Alparra, Murray Downs Cattle Station) and NT Police.

The Department required the road to be returned to its preexisting condition, ensuring safety, serviceability and compliance with DLI Standard Specifications.

The specified scope of works comprised invert-to-invert grading, reform and recompact, and reform, recompact and gravel resheet across the full chainage; full defect details were recorded in Attachment A - Road Defect Log Sheet.
