About

Public Transport Authority awarded a contract to Enviro Infrastructure (Enviro Infrastructure Pty Ltd) for the replacement of the existing asphalt flooring and access ramps at Seaforth Station due to aging, surface deterioration and non-compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA).

The scope included removal of existing handrails within ramp sections; removal and disposal of existing asphalt surfacing on both platforms and all ramps with on-site skip bins provided by the contractor; installation of new subgrade to match existing levels, compaction and screeding ready for new pavement; installation of Midland Red paving in accordance with PTA specifications on platforms and ramps; supply and mechanical fixing of Fibre Reinforced Resin Polymer (FRP) tactiles on platforms and placement of DDA-compliant tactiles at the top and bottom of each ramp; installation of new yellow edge lines to concrete edges and new kerbing in existing positions on both platforms.

All works were to comply with PTA Specification 8880-450-067 (Specification, Roads, Busways and Paths), DDA, safety and building code requirements and to be completed within the specified timeframes.
