About
Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure awarded a contract to T/AS Cordina Marine (Cordina Marine AMG PTY LTD) for the design, supply and delivery of two hydrographic survey vessels with road-licensed trailers — one approximately 10 metres in length and one approximately 7.5 metres in length.
The vessels were procured to replace DTMI’s existing hydrographic survey vessels of similar length that were approaching the end of their operational service life.
The Hydrographic Survey Section conducted coastal, port, channel, offshore and inland waterway surveys across metropolitan, regional and remote locations throughout Western Australia to support safe navigation, maritime infrastructure management and hazard identification, and the contracted vessels were to support those functions.
The award replaced ageing survey assets and focused on small, road-transportable vessels (≈10 m and ≈7.5 m), reflecting an emphasis on sustaining mobile hydrographic survey capability across coastal, port, channel, offshore and inland waterways in Western Australia.
