About
Lifetime Support Authority awarded a contract to SA Care for the continued provision of supported accommodation and attendant care services for three Lifetime Support Scheme (LSS) Participants.
The three Participants were classified as having complex care requirements and had been residing in supported accommodation with SA Care and receiving attendant care services for several years.
Consultation with the Service Planning and Specialist Support teams found the services remained necessary and reasonable, and continuation with SA Care was intended to minimise the risk of disrupting the Participants' treatment, care and support.
The decision reflected that a familiar environment, known care workers, and ease of visitation supported participant choice and recovery pathways, and that uprooting the Participants could cause disruption to them and their families and could lead to material financial impact to the LSS scheme.
The award prioritised continuity of care by retaining the existing provider for complex LSS participants to reduce disruption and potential cost implications for the scheme.
