About
Department of Families, Fairness and Housing awarded a contract to Safe and Equal for the administration of Respect Victoria 16 Days of Activism Grassroots Grants.
Safe and Equal, the peak body for Victorian organisations specialising in family and gender-based violence, was appointed to administer a series of funds across Victoria to its partner organisations and frontline agencies.
The work supported and aligned with an existing procurement process through which the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) was being appointed to distribute funding to local councils.
Awarding this contract to a sector peak body reflected a reliance on organisations with established networks to channel grassroots funding to partner and frontline agencies, while coordinating with a parallel MAV arrangement to cover local council distribution.
