DCYJMA awarded a contract to Yumba-Meta Limited for the provision of specialised residential care services for young people with complex support needs.
The service outlet provides six residential care places at any one time across a minimum of two premises, with 16 hours of awake worker support plus an 8-hour sleepover shift, 7 days per week, including recall to work capacity.
Support also covers care when young people are not attending school, during school holidays, and other times.
The model accommodates three young people of one gender per premise, with flexibility for placements and matching, such as sibling groups.
The service is being established in stages: the first premise accepting three placements from 1 December 2022, and the second premise accepting three placements from 1 February 2023.
A quarterly progress report is required for the first 12 months of the contract period.
The contract value is AUD 5,309,705 and was procured via a limited process.
