About
Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions awarded a contract to The Trustee for Abrolhos Family Trust for conducting comprehensive surveys of seabirds, shorebirds and marine raptors across 195 islands, islets and rocks within the Houtman Abrolhos Islands National Park during the summer of 2024/25.
The contract also covered wedge-tailed shearwater habitat mapping surveys at Pelsaert Island and West Wallabi Island in winter 2025 to capture the extent and density of shearwater burrows during the inter-breeding period.
Outcomes from the surveys were to be delivered to DBCA within three months of completion of fieldwork.
