Health Support Services awarded a contract to InterWorks (InterWorks AUS Pty Ltd) for senior data engineer services to support the Real-time Demand Data Platform (RDDP) Program.

The RDDP Program was a five-year program initiated in FY2021/2022 that progressed through proof-of-concept and early pilot stages and defined three waves to transition the pilot data platform to a secure, reliable and scalable enterprise data platform service.

The contract contributed to delivering two projects within the program: the Platform Architecture and Capabilities (PAC) project, which established architecture, design and operations best practices to support a sustainable, scalable WA Health Data Platform; and the Data Ingestion and Modelling (DIM) project, which delivered ingestion, integration and modelling of select source system data to provide a single view across WA Health of system demand and capacity.

InterWorks provided services to set up data ingestion processes into the Snowflake data warehouse using Oracle GoldenGate and Matillion solutions, support transition to the business-as-usual (BAU) support team, implement automatic job monitoring, triage and issue resolution activities, establish data integrity monitoring and related process improvements, support data lifecycle management, and develop and support data modelling activities.

Insight

Contracts for enterprise health data platforms tended to require vendors with hands-on experience in Snowflake, Oracle GoldenGate and Matillion and emphasized operational handover, monitoring and data integrity capabilities to move pilot solutions into BAU.
