About
Department of Health (Royal Street) awarded a contract to Intuji (Intuji Pty Ltd) for development, implementation, support and maintenance of an IT solution for the Community Aids and Equipment Program (CAEP).
The CAEP was a statewide program administered and funded by the Department of Health and delivered by WA Health services and external disability service providers, providing access to aids, equipment and installations such as wheelchairs, shower chairs, ramps and rails to people with health, disability or age-related impairments.
Individuals were referred into the program by general practitioners or other health professionals, needs were assessed by clinicians, and CAEP service providers sourced, issued and managed ongoing maintenance and repairs of equipment.
The contracted solution was required to modernise the technical platform, support existing clientele and allow some process modification, and was to be developed, implemented and ready for use by 1 July 2025.
The solution enabled service providers to record, track and report on equipment issued and associated expenditure; enabled the Department of Health to monitor and track expenditure and maintain program settings; and recorded program data to evaluate program delivery and inform future program planning and development.
The contract covered delivery of the new system plus ongoing support and maintenance.
The Department awarded an external IT supplier to centralise and modernise CAEP data, reporting and expenditure monitoring with a defined go‑live date, consolidating operational and oversight functions to support program administration and evaluation.
