Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment awarded a contract to Helicopter Resources Pty Ltd for helicopter transport services to support planning and construction of the Three Capes Track on the Tasman Peninsula.
The contract established a panel arrangement to provide transport of people, materials and equipment related to the Track, and anticipated the movement of hundreds to thousands of tonnes over a number of years.
The arrangement specified that it formed part of a panel of suitable service providers with no assurance that any single tenderer would be the sole supplier or receive specific orders.
The Project was subject to the approval of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works.
The award created a panel-based airborne logistics capability to meet the multi-year, heavy-lift and remote-access requirements of the Three Capes Track construction, highlighting the project's reliance on specialist helicopter operators.
