Provision of Specialised Residential Care and Support Services for the Doomadgee Safe House

DCYJMA awarded a contract to Act for Kids Limited for the provision of specialised services and support at the Doomadgee Safe House, including six moderate to high residential care places, awake worker support and supervision for 16 hours per day, sleepover shifts of 8 hours per night, and an additional 16 hours of awake worker support on weekdays, weekends, school and public holidays.

The contract also required the coordination of a Community Reference Group for each Safe House location, meeting at least quarterly to provide advice on community engagement, recruitment, and cultural protocols, and the transition of service delivery to an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Organisation over the contract term.
