Award of Targeted Family Support Services for First Nations Families

DCSSDS-SDS awarded a contract to Gallang Place Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Corporation for the delivery of Live Long Live Strong Targeted Family Support, providing support to vulnerable families with children and young people under 18, particularly First Nations families.

The service uses a whole-of-family approach with the young person at the centre, offering Youth Worker support and Family Support worker assistance, and incorporates a cultural health approach to strengthen connections between young people, families, and communities.

The contract, valued at $428,803 and procured through a limited method, includes developing a plan for community engagement with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, implementing support structures for staffing and leadership, supporting organisational governance, and providing ongoing feedback on community needs.
