Provision of the Financial Wellbeing Program to DHS by Anglican Community Care (ac.care)

Department of Human Services (DHS) awarded a contract to Anglican Community Care Inc (ac.care) for the Financial Wellbeing Program (FWP), which sought to alleviate the immediate impact of financial crisis or emergency and to build individual and community resilience to better handle adverse financial matters over the longer term.

The program aimed to improve financial capability (a combination of financial knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviours) and to enhance financial resilience (the ability to access and draw on capabilities and external supports in times of financial adversity).

The FWP supported individuals, families and communities by providing five key elements: financial counselling to address financial hardship and build capacity; emergency assistance via goods and services, financial assistance or help with bills; prevention via community and workforce education and other practices; connections through warm referrals to other services, programs and community assets; and timely triage of client needs.

The award comprised multiple contract packages under P164 (P164-C1 to P164-C15).
