About
Department of Health (Royal Street) awarded a contract to ServiceNow (ServiceNow Australia Pty Ltd) for a cloud/internet-based Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) tool.
The solution was required to meet the functional requirements set out in Schedule 2 and to align with the WA Government ICT Strategy, which shifted from asset-focused IT management to a consumption-based service model and included provisions for digital security, data classification, business continuity and disaster recovery, and cloud policies.
The Department expressed a preference for procurement via a licence/subscription-based model rather than purchase of a solution integrated and hosted within the WA Health digital environment.
Contracts specifying cloud deployment, strong security/compliance requirements and a subscription-preferred procurement model tended to favour established enterprise SaaS vendors with mature cloud, compliance and managed subscription offerings.
