Youth Support Services for At-Risk Young People in Doomadgee
Awarded 01 Oct 2023
About
DCSSDS awarded a contract to Save The Children Australia for specialised support services to young people in Doomadgee who lack protective factors such as family, community, school, and cultural connections, enabling them to lead safe, healthy, and active lives.
The service is culturally responsive, embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into program design, delivery, and evaluation through respectful engagement with Traditional Owners and the local community.
The provider works with Goonawoona Jungai Limited, the local decision-making body, sharing de-identified service delivery information to support potential future operation by that organisation.
Support is delivered in line with the Practice Guide for Youth Support Services (October 2019), using the Youth Wellbeing Common Assessment Tool (CAT) for needs identification and individual case planning, and the Youth Support Client Information System (YSCIS) for client management.
The contract includes $7,000 per annum for brokerage to assist young people in achieving support plan goals.
The contract value is $368,690, procured through a limited process.
