DCSSDS awarded a contract to UnitingCare Community for the provision of specialised services and support for children and young people with complex support needs at a service outlet in Kingaroy.

The service provides four places at any one time, with 24/7 support including at least two workers on duty for 16 hours per day plus an eight-hour sleepover shift, and extra staff during school holidays, weekends, and public holidays.

It also delivers culturally safe support for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and young people to maintain cultural identity and connection to family and community, and encourages engagement in education, training, or employment.

The service operates from a departmentally-owned property, with an approved amount of $38,618 per annum (indexed annually) withheld in lieu of rent.

The contract value is $4,005,238 and was procured via a limited process.
